Saturday Sunshine.

Happy Saturday!
We had such a great day in Cape Town today.  We got to sleep in a little bit more than usual which I was very thankful for!  Woke up, ate breakfast, and left the house around 10:00 to go explore the city.  The schedule consisted of driving along Long Beach to get to Chapman's Peak which was a beautiful mountain along the coast.  Fransie let us get out of the van to take some pictures of it.  So stunning!

THRILLED AND THANKFUL TO BE HERE

The beloved Fransie.

After seeing this beautiful view, we kept driving along the mountain to reach Table Mountain.  Unfortunately, it was too cloudy to climb it but we were still able to get a lovely view! We drove to the top of Signal Hill which overlooks the entire downtown area of Cape Town.

After this we went to the Greenmarket Square which was an outdoor market full of African clothes, trinkets, and jewelry.  There were so many things to look through that it just overwhelmed me!

We drove to the V&A Waterfront Mall afterwards which was incredible!  It is located on the coast and it is one of the biggest malls in the Cape.  We had several hours to find a place to eat and then explore.  The girls and guys split up once we got there.  The ladies ate at Mugg & Bean, which was similar to a Panera Bread, but much better.  I had the smoked chicken wrap with avocado.  SO GOOD.  Mama K got herself some English Breakfast tea to go along with her meal, of course.  It took us a little while to eat and pay (still getting used to rand), so we didn't leave until about 1:45 or so.  From there, we walked outside along the boardwalk which had tons of shops and street performers.  A huge ferris wheel is located behind it next to the waterfront.  It was so cool to see Table Mountain right behind the mall.  It is huge!  We went in to a few stores...didn't come out with much.  Got some pictures along the water.  It was such a pretty day too!  Bright blue sky with a nice breeze making it around 60 degrees.  So glad the sun came out for a few hours.  Met up with the boys and Fransie around 4:00 and headed back to the house.

On the way home, we spotted 2 different rainbows.  They are extremely common here, yet we still freaked out and immediately started taking pictures of them.  Holden informed me that he and Will were thinking about hiking today.  I told them to let me know whenever they go because I would love to tag along... so I did.

We left around 5:00 to hike a mountain.  No, it's not that simple.  The house is right in front of 2 large mountains that we have been wanting to hike; however, we had no idea how to actually get to the mountain.  We walked down a few streets that all came to dead ends.  Eventually, we saw a main road that ran parallel to one of the mountains, so we took that route.  I really enjoyed it!  We climbed to the top of it (while fearing random animals that could jump out at any point) and watched the sun set over the ocean.  It was incredible.  We had an unbelievable view for being so high.  I absolutely loved it!  It was really neat to hike it with two guys that I just met 6 days ago too.  Ha!  I love it!  Here are some pictures of the sunset!

God can definitely paint an incredible picture!

We made it back just in time for dinner- mac and cheese with garlic bread and a greek salad. Once again, SO GOOD.  The 7 of us had a wonderful time at dinner.  Lots of laughs tonight.  Thankful for that!
